Preview: Geneva Panthers vs. Bullock County Hornets
The Geneva Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bullock County Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Thursday, Geneva came up short against Dale County and fell 37-30. Geneva has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Kingston Tolbert put forth a good effort for the losing side as he rushed for 137 yards and four touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Bullock County fell victim to Montgomery Catholic's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 38-0 loss at the hands of the Knights. While losing is never fun, Bullock County can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while Montgomery Catholic is ranked 18th).
Geneva has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Bullock County, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 3-5.
Everything came up roses for Geneva against Bullock County in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the team secured a 46-0 victory. Will Geneva repeat their success, or does Bullock County have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
