Recap: Frontier Cougars vs. Valley Lumberjacks

The Frontier Cougars won the last time they faced the Valley Lumberjacks, and things went their way on Monday too. Frontier came out on top against Valley by a score of 55-43. The win was all the more spectacular given Frontier's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 219th in Ohio, while Valley is ranked 86th in West Virginia).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Frontier to victory, but perhaps none more so than Grace Knowlton, who scored 25 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelsey Dye, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and six steals.

Frontier pushed their record up to 15-6 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.8 points per game. As for Valley, they now have a losing record at 6-7.

Frontier will head out on the road to challenge Trinity Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Trinity Christian will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something Frontier surely won't give up without a fight. As for Valley, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Tyler at 6:00 p.m.
