Basketball Recap: Cleveland Falls Short of Farmington in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cleveland can now relate to. They fell 56-48 to the Farmington Scorpions on Friday. That's two games in a row now that the Storm have lost by exactly eight points.

Cleveland's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Danae Elzy, who posted 11 points and five boards, and KC Winters, who had ten points and three steals. Elzy has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Erin Winters, who scored nine points and six rebounds.

Caris Dale had an outrageously good game for Farmington as she went 7-for-11 to rack up 19 points. That's the most points Dale has posted since back in January of 2024. Harmony Thomas was another key player, putting up ten points and six boards.

Cleveland is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-15. As for Farmington, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season.

Cleveland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Farmington, they will take on Carlsbad at 8:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
