Soccer Recap: Russell Takes a Loss

Despite a strong season so far, Russell has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Boyd County Lions. Russell were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Boyd County earlier this season, when they won 3-1.

Ava Barker and Emma Stamper scored all three of Russell's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 38 goals.

Russell's defeat dropped their record down to 10-3-3. As for Boyd County, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-4-2.

Russell has already played their next match, an 8-0 win against Menifee County on the 14th. As for Boyd County, they will face off against West Carter at 8:00 p.m. on the 16th.
