Softball Game Preview: Stoughton Vikings vs. Lakeside Lutheran Warriors

The Stoughton Vikings will face off against the Lakeside Lutheran Warriors at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Stoughton has given up an average of 7.5 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Things were looking good for Stoughton after they put the first run on the board on Friday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They fell just short of McFarland by a score of 13-12. The Vikings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Cara Link and Madyson Verville did some serious damage despite the final result: Link went 2-for-4 with five RBI and one double, while Verville went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base. Savannah Fosdal was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, Lakeside Lutheran fought the good fight in their extra-innings contest against Whitewater on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Whippets by a score of 8-6. The Warriors just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Stoughton's defeat dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Lakeside Lutheran, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
