Basketball Game Preview: Chapman Irish vs. Rock Creek Mustangs

The Chapman Irish will square off against the Rock Creek Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Chapman is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Last Tuesday, Chapman came up short against Smoky Valley and fell 57-46.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Rock Creek, who bounced back after a loss on the road back in December of 2024. They came out on top against Clay Center by a score of 54-46 on Tuesday. While the Mustangs didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Rock Creek pushed their record up to 4-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.7 points per game. As for Chapman, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Chapman strolled past Rock Creek when the teams last played back in February of 2024 by a score of 52-33. Will Chapman repeat their success, or does Rock Creek have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
