Football Recap: Allatoona Keeps Woodland's Under Pressure + How To Watch

Allatoona won the last time they faced Woodland and Ethan Corpus did his part to make sure it happened again. The Buccaneers enjoyed a cozy 49-35 victory over the Wildcats on Friday with plenty of help from Corpus, who rushed for 327 yards and five TDs while picking up 14.9 yards per carry. His longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards.

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Allatoona's defensive line and their four sacks. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece. They got some further help from Jeremiah Coleman: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made nine total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Woodland's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Solomon James, who rushed for 210 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, and also picked up 94 receiving yards and one score. With that strong performance, James is now averaging an impressive 112.8 rushing yards per game. Another signal caller making a difference was Sam Ray Iv, who threw for 344 yards and three TDs.

Allatoona's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Woodland, they dropped their record down to 0-6 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Allatoona and Woodland could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings. The Buccaneers will take on Cartersville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (214 vs. 21). Meanwhile, Woodland (ranked 352nd) will meet Hiram (ranked 166th) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
