The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 72-68 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January of 2024.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Josiah Jackson, who went 5 of 10 en route to 12 points and seven rebounds. Jackson has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Terrance Meredith was another key player, going 5 for 12 on his way to 14 points and six boards.
Purdue Polytechnic was led to victory by James Long Jr. and Tj Williams. Long Jr. posted 24 points, while Williams scored 24 points. The dominant performance gave Long Jr. a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordann Allen, who earned nine points.
Christel House's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Purdue Polytechnic, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.
