Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Dalhart). Everything went their way against the Tulia Hornets on Monday as the Dalhart Wolves made off with a 21-9 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wolves considering their one-run performance the matchup before.

Lil Bird made a splash while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Bird was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in five of his six plate appearances. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

In other batting news, Geo Barron was a standout: he fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-5. Braxton Akin was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.

Dalhart was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .432. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in three consecutive contests.

Dalhart's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-7. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Tulia, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-4-1.

Looking ahead, Dalhart will welcome River Road at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Tulia, they will head out to face off against Bushland at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Bushland will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.
