Ferndale won the last time they faced Fortuna and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Wildcats walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Huskies. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wildcats.

Ferndale had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 23-25, 25-23, 25-17, 25-23.

Amaya Mathews paced Ferndale's offense, picking up 16 kills. Mathews got some help from Dalia Cantu-Mendez and her 33 assists. Mathews was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Ferndale's win bumped their record up to 9-12. As for Fortuna, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.

Ferndale has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against South Fork on the 9th. As for Fortuna, they will challenge Arcata at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
