Football Recap: Norfolk Christian Starts off Right with Win over FCA B

Norfolk Christian had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They put the hurt on the FCA B Bucks with a sharp 28-6 win on Saturday. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Ambassadors' disadvantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 300th in Virginia, while the Bucks are ranked 45th in Delaware).

Norfolk Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ej Dobratz led the charge by rushing for 124 yards and a pair of scores on only 14 carries, while also throwing for 17 yards and one TD. Evan Field was another key rusher, rushing for 122 yards while picking up 7.2 yards per carry.

Norfolk Christian wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 20-0 win against Hampton Roads Academy on the 29th. After each having a week off, FCA B and Harvest Covenant will shake off the rust and duke it out at 2:00 p.m. on the 6th. This will be the Bucks' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
