Burns had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They blew past the Chase Trojans 3-0. The game was the first time the Bulldogs have beaten the Trojans on their court since December 15, 2020.

Burns never let Chase on the board, but things got pretty close in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-22, 25-15.

Karlye Clay paced Burns' offense, picking up ten kills. Clay got some help from Alexis Martin and her 18 assists. Martin was also solid from the service line: she led the team with nine aces.

Burns didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 victory against Stuart W. Cramer on the 19th. As for Chase, they have also already played their next game, a 3-0 defeat against T.C. Roberson on the 15th.
