Baseball Recap: Saint Ignatius College Prep Takes a Loss

Saint Ignatius College Prep had lost four straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped their record down to 9-14 to make it five. They lost 10-3 to the DePaul College Prep Rams. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Wolfpack of the 5-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Saint Ignatius College Prep saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cam Andrews, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Connor Hites also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

As for DePaul College Prep, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 19-4. Considering they have won seven games by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

On DePaul College Prep's side, Gavin Glibowski looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). Glibowski has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Quinn Roberts was a standout: he fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Latko, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

While Saint Ignatius College Prep had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
