Basketball Recap: Ellis Falls Despite Big Games from Caleb Noble-Heit and Aiden Aschenbrenner

Ellis was the 50-39 winner over Thomas More Prep-Marian when they last played one another back in January of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Ellis Railroaders fell 56-45 to the Thomas More Prep-Marian Monarchs on Thursday.

Aiden Aschenbrenner and Caleb Noble-Heit certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Aschenbrenner posted 14 points, while Noble-Heit had nine points along with six rebounds and three steals. Aschenbrenner is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Baylor Born also deserves some recognition as he scored his first point of the season.

Ellis has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-5 record this season. As for Thomas More Prep-Marian, the victory was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-5.

Ellis will challenge Hoxie at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Thomas More Prep-Marian, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Great Bend at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th.
