If Butler was riding high fresh off their 71-43 takedown of Laney on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Butler Bulldogs took a 54-46 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Josey Eagles on Saturday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulldogs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-52 back in January.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Paris Floyd, who posted 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. The dominant performance gave Floyd a new career-high in boards. Another player making a difference was Brayla Harris, who scored 14 points and five rebounds.

Kerri Fluellen was her usual excellent self, going 6 for 10 en route to 13 points along with eight steals and six boards for Josey. Fluellen is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 50 games she's played dating back to last season. Keasia Henderson was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 assists.

Butler's loss dropped their record down to 16-4. As for Josey, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season.

Butler wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 73-20 win against Burke County on the 4th. As for Josey, they have also already played their next contest, a 55-37 victory against Thomson on the 4th.
