Volleyball Recap: Oakwood Comes Up Short

Oakwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of Monterey Bay Academy.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Oakwood sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 22-25, 25-15, 18-25, 15-12.

Oakwood's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Monterey Bay Academy, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-4.

Oakwood has already played their next match (against Ceiba College Preparatory Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Monterey Bay Academy, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Pajaro Valley at 6:00 p.m. on April 9.
