Recap: West Side Pirates vs. Bear Lake Bears
Even though the West Side Pirates have not done well against the Bear Lake Bears recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. West Side managed a 57-52 win over Bear Lake. That's another feather in the cap for West Side, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Bear Lake lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Christian Bush, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Roberts, who scored 14 points.
West Side has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Bear Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 6-9.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Side will play host again and welcome Grace, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Idaho (Grace is ranked 67th, while West Side is ranked 42nd). As for Bear Lake, they will be playing at home against Soda Springs at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday.
