Baseball Recap: Kirk Academy Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Kirk Academy can now relate to. They took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Winston Academy Patriots on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Patriots this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 on Tuesday.

Kirk Academy has also been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season. As for Winston Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season.

Kirk Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Winston Academy, they will challenge Manchester Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Mavericks have averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season.
