Basketball Recap: Vestaburg's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Coleman came into Wednesday's matchup looking for another win against Vestaburg, but Lily Johnston wouldn't allow it. The Vestaburg Wolverines took their game on Wednesday with ease, bagging a 57-22 win over the Coleman Comets thanks in part to Johnston, who went 8 of 14 on her way to 18 points along with six steals and five boards. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played.

Addison Neelis was another key player, putting up nine points and three steals. That's the most points she has posted since back in January of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Coleman saw an underclassman step up: freshman Kendall Allen posted five points.

The victory snapped Vestaburg's losing streak at six games and leaves them with a 2-8 record. As for Coleman, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.

Vestaburg will square off against Merrill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Coleman, they will venture away from home to challenge Sacred Heart Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 29th.
