Barstow is 0-3 against Serrano since August of 2018 but things could change on Friday. The Aztecs will take on the Diamondbacks at 7:00 p.m. Barstow is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last six games.
Barstow's defense heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They claimed a resounding 29-0 victory over Adelanto. The Aztecs might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by 26 points or more this season.

Nicholas Gaoa was his usual excellent self, rushing for 128 yards and two TDs on only 13 carries. He has been hot, having posted two or more rushing touchdowns the last seven times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aloalii (Alo) Lealofi, who rushed for 76 yards and one score on only nine carries.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Barstow was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 211 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 211 rushing yards in four consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Serrano made easy work of Burroughs on Thursday and carried off a 40-14 win. The Diamondbacks pushed the score to 34-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Burros cut but never quite recovered from.
Barstow better keep an eye on Issiah Romo. He was instrumental in Serrano's win, throwing for 212 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 passes, while also punching in one rushing score. Those 212 passing yards gave Romo a new career-high.
Serrano didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Steve Mendez, Romo, and Gilbert Vasquez picked up one apiece.
Barstow's record now sits at 6-3. As for Serrano, their record is now 7-3.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Barstow has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 208.2 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Serrano struggles in that department as they've been averaging 255.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's game turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Barstow couldn't quite finish off Serrano in their previous meeting back in August and fell 17-15. Can the Aztecs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
