Softball Recap: Lakewood Tigers vs. Arvada West Wildcats
Lakewood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Arvada West Wildcats. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 10-4 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture two weeks ago.
Ayanna Salgado made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucy Retzer, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Even though they lost, Lakewood didn't let batters stay on the plate for long and finished the game with six strikeouts. That's the most strikeouts they've posted since back in October of 2023.
