Basketball Recap: Drew Dragons vs. Athenian Owls
Drew lost against Athenian back in November of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Drew Dragons took a hard 75-59 fall against the Athenian Owls. The Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Several Dragons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kian Chan, who went 10 of 23 on his way to 23 points. Chan's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Max Nadler, who went 6 for 15 on his way to 17 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Athenian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Teni Salako, who posted 25 points. Eshaan Anand was another key player, putting up 16 points.
Drew's record is now 2-5. As for Athenian, they pushed their record up to 4-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Drew will host Berean Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Drew knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matches -- so hopefully Berean Christian likes a good challenge. As for Athenian, they will venture away from home to square off against Sonoma Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Athenian is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61 points per game this season.
