Soccer Recap: Sweetwater Takes a Loss

Sweetwater was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the San Ysidro Cougars. The Red Devils were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cougars earlier this season, when they won 2-0.

Sweetwater's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 13-5-4. As for San Ysidro, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-6-4.

Sweetwater and San Ysidro should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. Sweetwater will take on Montgomery at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday up 456 places (344 vs. 800). Similarly, San Ysidro (ranked 395th) will meet Mar Vista (ranked 1064th) at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
