Baseball Recap: Wheeler Takes a Loss

After flying high against Falkner on Tuesday, Wheeler came back down to earth. Wheeler fell just short of Falkner by a score of 3-1 on Friday. Wheeler was not able to repeat the success they had when they faced Falkner earlier this season, when they won 12-0.

Wheeler saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Peirce Spencer, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run. Spencer is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played.

Wheeler's defeat dropped their record down to 11-7. As for Falkner, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-8 record this season.

Wheeler is taking a road trip to take on Pine Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Falkner, they have already played their next game, a 12-2 loss against Strayhorn on the 4th.
