Baseball Recap: Putnam Has No Trouble Against Centennial

While Putnam put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Centennial. The Kingsmen put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 10-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 11-1 on Tuesday.

Nolan Edwards was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grady Cram, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Ian Pollard was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Putnam kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They are 2-1 when they post 11 or more hits.

Putnam is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-13 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Centennial, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 11 of their last 14 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-18 record this season.
