Basketball Game Preview: Marist Spartans vs. Junction City Tigers

The Marist Spartans will head out to challenge the Junction City Tigers at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Marist's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matchups.

Marist is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Marshfield just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 68-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pirates.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Junction City faced off against Cottage Grove on Tuesday. Junction City took a hard 73-54 fall against Cottage Grove.

Junction City has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.4 points per game. As for Marist, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 12-5.

Marist beat Junction City 56-46 when the teams last played back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Marist since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
