Basketball Game Preview: Gray Stone Day Knights vs. North Stanly Comets

Gray Stone Day hasn't had much luck against North Stanly recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Gray Stone Day Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the North Stanly Comets at 6:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.

Gray Stone Day is headed into Monday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They were outmatched by Albemarle and fell 69-22. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 553rd, while the Bulldogs are ranked 104th).

Meanwhile, North Stanly came up short against Mount Pleasant on Friday and fell 41-31.

North Stanly has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season. As for Gray Stone Day, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.

Gray Stone Day came up short against North Stanly in their previous matchup back in November of 2024, falling 45-34. Can Gray Stone Day avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
