Baseball Recap: Kewanee Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Kewanee and Illinois Valley Central squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Kewanee had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Grey Ghosts by a score of 6-5.

Logan Peed put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. Peed was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Peed wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Landon Sheets, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Kewanee's defeat dropped their record down to 13-19. As for Illinois Valley Central, the victory (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 22-10.

As of now, neither Kewanee nor the Grey Ghosts have any future games scheduled.
