Baseball Recap: Riverview Comes Up Short

After soaring to 14 runs the game before, Riverview was a bit more limited in their match on Saturday. They came up short against the Plant Panthers, falling 12-2. The defeat continues a trend for the Sharks in their meetings with the Panthers: they've now lost six in a row.

Riverview saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jordan Shultz, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one double. That double was Shultz's first of the season.

Riverview's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Plant, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Riverview will be playing in front of their home fans against Plant City at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Raiders' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Sharks' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Plant, they will venture away from home to square off against Robinson at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Panthers are facing the Knights at the right time seeing as the Knights are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
