Hidalgo entered their tilt with Valley View on Friday with eight consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with nine. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Tigers a 3-0 shutout. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent victory being a 10-1 win on April 8th.

Brent Ian Szczuroski was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Santiago Hernandez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Hidalgo pushed their record up to 13-5-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Valley View, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-8.
