Baseball Recap: River City Wins Going Away Against Dixon

River City won the last time they faced Dixon and things went their way on Thursday too. The River City Raiders put the hurt on the Dixon Rams with a sharp 12-2 win. With that victory, the Raiders brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Aiden Brookins looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. What's more, he gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, River City let Noah Carrington and Tanner Mayberry run wild. Carrington went 1-for-2 with two runs and one triple, while Mayberry scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. That's the most runs Mayberry has posted since back in April of 2024. Isiah Machado was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-1.

River City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive contests.

River City's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Dixon, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3-1.

Looking ahead, River City will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Vanden at 4:00 p.m. As for Dixon, they will head out to square off against Rio Linda at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The match will give Dixon their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season.
