For the second straight game, University Christian will face off against St. Joseph Academy. The Christians will square off against the Flashes at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. University Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

University Christian heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Tuesday. They lost 14-2 to St. Joseph Academy. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Christians, who until this contest were averaging 3.72 runs allowed.

For St. Joseph Academy's part, Garrison Wade was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out eight batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Wade was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, Camden Biskup was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Patrick Mullahy, who went 2-for-3 with four RBI and two doubles.

St. Joseph Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-8-1 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for University Christian, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 20-9.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. University Christian has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.8 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like St. Joseph Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 9.1 strikeouts.
