Baseball Recap: Red Lion Christian Academy Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

Red Lion Christian Academy hadn't done well against Concord recently (they were 0-3 in their previous three matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Lions' pitcher stepped up to hand the Raiders a 5-0 shutout. This was payback for the Lions, who suffered a 4-2 loss the last time these two teams met.

The result came thanks to Caleb Sutton's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Red Lion Christian Academy let Dom Liguori and Brayden Redmond run wild. Liguori went 1-for-4 with one home run, while Redmond went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. That home run marked the first that Liguori has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Hill, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.

Red Lion Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Concord, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-7.

Looking ahead, Red Lion Christian Academy will take on Delmarva Christian at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. Concord does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
