Softball Recap: Clover Has No Trouble Against Northwestern

Clover never got on the board in their matchup last Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Northwestern on Tuesday. They blew past the Northwestern Trojans 11-3. Considering the Blue Eagles have won four games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Clover has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. Northwestern is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clover will welcome Dorman at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Dorman's pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so Clover's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Northwestern, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lancaster at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Northwestern has given up an average of 7.3 runs per game this season, so hopefully the team got some pitching drills in this week.
