Temecula Valley hit Murrieta Valley with a four-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Nighthawks fell just short of the Golden Bears by a score of 5-3. Nolan Hill spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Murrieta Valley saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Riley Kujawa, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
