Caston's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to West Central on Tuesday. The Comets put the hurt on the Southwood Knights with a sharp 12-2 victory. Considering the Comets have won six games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Logan Mollenkopf, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, four runs, and three RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Gavin Mollenkopf, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.

Caston was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southwood only posted a batting average of .273.

Caston's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-4. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Southwood, they are on a ten-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

Caston didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 5-4 win against Lewis Cass on the 1st. As for Southwood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 17-0 defeat against Northwestern on the 30th.
