Softball Game Preview: Corydon Central Panthers vs. Scottsburg Warriors

The Corydon Central Panthers will face off against the Scottsburg Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Corydon Central's usually-dominant pitching crew will be looking to make up for Thursday's struggle, when New Albany hitters got past them. The Panthers came up short against the Bulldogs on Thursday, falling 22-12. The defeat continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost three in a row.

Addyson Robinson made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Rease Jones, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Scottsburg was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their 18th straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 16-2 to North Harrison. Warriors fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Cougars since on Wednesday.

Scottsburg's defeat dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Corydon Central, their loss dropped their record down to 16-6.

Everything went Corydon Central's way against Scottsburg in their previous meeting last Wednesday, as Corydon Central made off with a 22-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
