Preview: Wheeler Lions vs. Lyman Memorial Bulldogs

Wheeler and Lyman Memorial are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2018, but not for long. The Wheeler Lions will look to defend their home court on Saturday against the Lyman Memorial Bulldogs at 2:30 p.m. Wheeler will be looking to keep their 12-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.

Wheeler scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They strolled past North Providence with points to spare, taking the game 87-73. The win was all the more spectacular given Wheeler's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 76th in Connecticut, while North Providence is ranked 11th in Rhode Island).

Meanwhile, everything went Lyman Memorial's way against Westbrook on Wednesday as Lyman Memorial made off with a 55-33 victory.

Kevin Botticello continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 26 points and 12 rebounds. He also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Jordan Chandler was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.

Wheeler has been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Lyman Memorial, their victory bumped their record up to 5-12.

Wheeler strolled past Lyman Memorial when the teams last played back in January by a score of 45-30. Does Wheeler have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lyman Memorial turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
