Baseball Recap: Coastal Academy Beats Tri-City Christian for Their Fourth Straight Victory

Coastal Academy came tearing into Wednesday's contest with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Tri-City Christian Eagles with a sharp 16-2 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 7-3 on Tuesday.

Jackson Asbury was a standout: he went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jayce Costephens, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Coastal Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 6-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Coastal Academy's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Tri-City Christian, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Coastal Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
