Basketball Recap: Columbia Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Columbia had won two straight games and Alyssa Goebel did her part to make it three on Saturday. The Raiders blew past the Clearview Clippers, posting a 65-23 win for which the team can thank Goebel, who shot 41% from the field en route to 22 points and six steals. Her afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 18 points.

Another player making a difference was Abby Elgin, who posted five points and four steals. She has become a key player for Columbia: the team is undefeated when she posts at least three steals, but 3-4 otherwise.

Columbia's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Clearview, their defeat was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Columbia and Smithville will round out the year against one another at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Clearview, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Fairview at 1:00 p.m. on January 3, 2026.
