Soccer Game Preview: Sterling vs. Princeton

The Sterling Golden Warriors will challenge the Princeton Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Sterling's offense. They lost 8-0 to Quincy on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for Sterling in their meetings with Quincy: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Princeton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against Kaneland, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Princeton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 278th, while Kaneland are ranked 79th).

Princeton's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Sterling, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-15.
