Baseball Recap: Moreno Valley Extends Winning Streak to Three

Moreno Valley took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against Poly, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Vikings sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-7 victory over the Bears on Wednesday. The win was familiar territory for the Vikings, who have now won three matchups in a row.

D. McCauley was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. He is becoming a predictor of Moreno Valley's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 6-1 (and 7-10 when he doesn't). D. Alvarez was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Moreno Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in six consecutive contests.

Moreno Valley's record now sits at 13-11. As for Poly, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-9.
