Baseball Recap: Santa Fe Takes a Loss

After flying high against Espanola Valley last Thursday, Santa Fe came back down to earth. Santa Fe lost 7-1 to the St. Michael's Horsemen on Saturday. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Demons of the 7-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Darrell Carbajal made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one double and one RBI.

Santa Fe has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. St. Michael's victory bumped their record up to 7-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: St. Michael's beat Santa Fe by a score of 13-7 later that day.
