Baseball Game Preview: Union County Fightin' Tigers vs. Santa Fe Raiders

The Union County Fightin' Tigers are taking a road trip to take on the Santa Fe Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Union County lost 13-4 to West Nassau on Wednesday.

Jeffrey Brugh and Kendall Carter stepped up to the plate in a big way. Brugh scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Carter scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That stolen base was Carter's first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of DEVIN DIGGS, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Santa Fe was a bit more limited in their matchup on Tuesday. They fell 6-1 to Suwannee. Raiders fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Bulldogs since on Tuesday.

Santa Fe saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Whitworth, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Santa Fe's loss dropped their record down to 10-10. As for Union County, they now have a losing record of 10-11.

Everything went Union County's way against Santa Fe in their previous meeting back in February of 2020, as Union County made off with a 9-2 win. Do the Fightin' Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Raiders turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
