Preview: Medora Hornets vs. Cannelton Bulldogs
The Medora Hornets will head out on the road to face off against the Cannelton Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Monday, Medora had to suffer through a rough 81-49 loss at the hands of Christian Academy. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Medora in their matchups with Christian Academy: they've now lost three in a row.
Meanwhile, Cannelton took a serious blow against Pleasant View Christian on Saturday, falling 73-36. While losing is never fun, Cannelton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 438th, while Pleasant View Christian is ranked 71st).
Medora has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Cannelton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.
Everything came up roses for Medora against Cannelton in their previous matchup back in February as the squad secured a 68-33 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Medora since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
