Soccer Recap: Wheaton Academy Extends Winning Streak to Five

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Wheaton Academy). They blew past the St. Edward Green Wave 9-0 on Tuesday. Given Wheaton Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 64th, while St. Edward are ranked 291st) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wheaton Academy's offense was hitting St. Edward from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Carlton Mcclure led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

The win was the fifth in a row for Wheaton Academy, bringing their record up to 5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 25 goals over those five contests. As for St. Edward, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-7-1.
