Softball Recap: Pearl River Rebels vs. Loranger Wolves
Pearl River lost against Loranger back in March of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pearl River Rebels fell just short of the Loranger Wolves by a score of 4-2.
Riley Falcon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits.
On the hitting side, Pearl River saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mylee Elsensohn, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Emersen Blanchard also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.
Pearl River has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. Loranger's victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1.
Looking ahead, Pearl River will head out to square off against Benjamin Franklin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Loranger, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Kenner Discovery Health Sciences Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
