If Camp Verde was riding high fresh off their 66-27 takedown of Hopi on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Camp Verde Cowboys fell to the Florence Gophers 70-66. The Cowboys' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Camp Verde lost on Saturday despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jordan McMahon-Fullmer, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Tristan Clarke was another key player, going 5 for 8 on his way to 15 points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Florence to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brody Ramirez, who went 10 of 16 on his way to 26 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Ramirez continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Logan Stenson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.

Camp Verde's defeat dropped their record down to 7-7. As for Florence, the win keeps them at an undefeated 9-0.

Camp Verde wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 45-44 victory against Show Low on the 28th. As for Florence, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 75-55 win against Parker on the 28th.
