Soccer Recap: Shelby Falls Short of Pine Lake Prep in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Shelby can now relate to. They lost 9-0 to the Pine Lake Prep Pride on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Shelby can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Pine Lake Prep are ranked fifth).

Having lost for the first time this season, Shelby fell to 25-1. As for Pine Lake Prep, they pushed their record up to 20-2 with the victory, which was their 12th straight at home.

Shelby does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pine Lake Prep, they will square off against Franklin Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Franklin Academy will roll in looking for their 24th straight win, something Pine Lake Prep surely won't give up without a fight.
