Basketball Recap: Richard Wright Public Charter School Spartans vs. Idea Timberwolves
Richard Wright Public Charter School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 15th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were beaten by the Idea Timberwolves 70-20. The Spartans lost against the Timberwolves in their previous head to head back in January, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 61-42 score last time.
Despite the loss, Richard Wright Public Charter School saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ashton Wall posted eight points.
Idea got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chris Hinton out in front who went 6 for 9 on his way to 14 points and four steals. The dominant performance also gave Hinton a new career-high in assists (four). Kaidyn Lewis was another key player, putting up 11 points and six steals.
Richard Wright Public Charter School's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Idea, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Richard Wright Public Charter School wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 67-15 loss against Paul Public Charter International on the 13th. As for Idea, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 59-57 victory against Jefferson on the 13th.
